- ➤ Today, NCDHHS is providing 8,000 free radon test kits (available at radon.ncdhhs.gov) so residents can test their homes for radon, a dangerous gas that can lead to lung cancer. WHKY

- ➤ At the High School Basketball Christmas Tournament Tuesday, Dec. 30, Hickory girls finished third with a 48—42 loss to South Caldwell while Hickory boys won the championship by beating Alexander Central 76—55. WHKY
