  • Tesla Dawn Lynn, 32, was arrested in Hickory for felony drug possession among other charges, with multiple court dates scheduled.  WHKY
  • A Hickory man, Jeremy Scott Young, was sentenced to 8-11 years in prison after pleading guilty to several charges including felony larceny and breaking and entering.  Hickory Daily Record

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rebecca Ebel, a pre-k teacher at Hickory High Child Development Center, has been awarded the Outstanding Prospective Teacher Award by Western Carolina University for her excellence in education and dedication.  Hickory Daily Record
  • Following a border revision between Catawba and Lincoln counties, 135 students may join Catawba County Schools, with options for enrollment or transfer outlined by officials.  The News Herald
