- ➤ Lenoir-Rhyne University set record-high application rates and campus engagement. Prospective students and families will explore the campus during visits scheduled throughout the week and attend Accepted Student Days on Feb. 7, Feb. 28 and March 21. Hickory Daily Record
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The NCHSAA voted this morning to revise the schedule for the state wrestling dual team playoffs after winter weather disrupted events. The first and second rounds will be Feb. 10-12 and quarterfinals through finals will run Feb. 16-17 — host sites will be announced. WHKY
- ➤ Josh Baldwin, a gold-certified songwriter, will perform at the post-game Christian Concert on Saturday, July 25 after the Crawdads game against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at 5 pm. Group and party tickets are available now while individual tickets start at $16 on Friday, Feb. 13. WHKY
- ➤ The national champion Lenoir-Rhyne women’s triathlon team earned CTCA Scholar All-America honors on Feb. 5 by meeting strict GPA standards (six athletes were recognized, including Division II national champion Zoila Sicilia) as the Bears clinched their third championship in four years. WHKY
