  • Construction will begin Feb. 16 at the Hudson's Mission Road intersection as part of the U.S. 321 widening project that will expand the highway to six lanes between U.S. 70 and Southwest Boulevard.  Hickory Daily Record

  • Lenoir-Rhyne’s softball team swept a doubleheader at McCrorie Family Stadium on Wednesday — winning 8-0 and 8-5 over Belmont Abbey, with Autumn Joyce hitting a home run and Madison Primm driving in key runs as the Bears will face USC-Aiken on Saturday.  WHKY
  • Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team opened season yesterday at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, finishing tied for 9th amid strong competition — 11 of 18 teams were ranked in the top 50. Matthew McDougall tied for 11th, and the Bears will compete at the Bulldog Spring Classic at Pawleys Island in two weeks.  WHKY
  • On Tuesday, Feb. 10, high school girls and boys basketball games in the Western Piedmont, Western Foothills and Northwestern conferences delivered competitive final scores — teams like Draughn, North Lincoln and Freedom led the action.  WHKY
