EDUCATION NEWS

  • App State will invest $500K in a new nursing simulation lab and a Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Hickory campus, which will expand clinical training opportunities and support local healthcare workforce needs.  The News Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Jeff Jackson and 16 other attorneys general filed a brief on March 19 to support a federal rule that requires public water systems to replace lead pipes (most must be replaced within 10 years) to reduce lead exposure risks.  WHKY
  • DOT crews will install storm drainage by closing the N.C. 150 ramp to I–77 North just after midnight today and early Saturday — the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Drivers should follow signed detours as part of a $249 million widening project.  WHKY
