- ➤ The Catawba County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on April 20 to consider merging Catawba County Schools, Hickory City Schools and Newton-Conover City Schools. The meeting is at the Catawba County Justice Center at 100 Government Drive in Newton — details are online. WHKY
