- ➤ Lenoir-Rhyne athletes set several personal bests on April 5 at the Vertklasse Meeting in High Point; the team will compete locally next week during the Southside Power and Fitness Invitational as part of the BeaRaPaLooZa celebration. WHKY
- ➤ Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball lost both games of their doubleheader on April 5 — Newberry won the series by outscoring the Bears in a late inning surge. The team sits 4th in the SAC and will host Barton on Tuesday at Durham Field — first pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. WHKY
- ➤ Paul Toovalian pitched seven innings with three hits and one run as Lenoir-Rhyne beat Newberry 2-1 yesterday. Mackenzie Wainwright hit the game-winning solo home run in the eighth, marking the Bears' first win with two runs or less since Feb. 7, 2023. WHKY
- ➤ The Crawdads won 5-2 against the Columbia Fireflies on Saturday night at L.P. Frans Stadium after scoring four runs in the eighth inning, with AJ Russell debuting by striking out three hitters in two innings. The team will travel to Kannapolis on Tuesday night for their first road series. WHKY
- ➤ Lenoir-Rhyne’s men’s lacrosse set a program record by scoring 30 goals in a 30 & 2 win against Emory & Henry on Saturday. Eli Busse led with five goals plus four assists in the contest that broke previous scoring marks. WHKY
- ➤ Saturday night's races saw Michael Bumgarner win Late Models and Super Trucks while Chase Robertson, Cody DeMarmels and George Pultz won Limiteds, Street Stocks and Super Stocks — the track will host the SMART Modifides series on April 11 with NASCAR Local Racing Series races on April 18. WHKY
- ➤ The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team swept Wingate on Friday with wins of 9-8 and 3-2 + they now hold a 12-0 conference record and will face the Anderson Trojans in Hickory on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. WHKY
- ➤ Tri-County Motor Speedway hosted the Skip Moser 335 on Saturday, Apr. 4 — winners included Kaeden Ballos in Late Models, Zack Franks in Limiteds, and Gary Ledbetter in Street Stocks. The track will hold another race on Saturday, Apr. 18 with divisions like Carolina Mini-Stocks and Renegades. WHKY
- ➤ The Columbia Fireflies beat the Hickory Crawdads 5-2 Friday night at LP Frans Stadium after a five-run fifth inning; Jesus Lafalaise debuted for the team by pitching four shutout innings. WHKY
- ➤ LR Men's Tennis lost a 4-1 conference match to No. 12 Catawba on Saturday, April 5. The Bears will hit the road on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. to face No. 22 Wingate. WHKY
- ➤ The Lenoir-Rhyne women's lacrosse team clinched a 21-9 win over UVA Wise on Saturday, April 5, with seniors honored before the game, and the Bears tied the all-time series at 5-5. They will travel to Wilson on Tuesday to face Barton. WHKY
