Local author Keith Brown has launched a mobile bookshop in Catawba County to bring his own books and favorite reads to local readers; he said he focuses on a small selection (the books he writes and enjoys) because a mobile shop cannot hold everything.

Hickory streetscape improvements will continue until August — residents and visitors are advised to allow extra travel time and follow posted signage near work zones.

Lenoir-Rhyne women’s lacrosse players Kirra Olson and Anneleise Meyer earned weekly awards from the South Atlantic Conference on April 7 for week nine.

Lenoir-Rhyne’s Havyn Spain earned track athlete of the week honors after winning the 200m at the Vertklasse Meeting on Apr.

7 (his best time was 20.75) and finishing third in the 400m; his rankings now are third for the 200 and fifth for the 400.
