Hickory Public Library hosts the second annual Hickory Literary Festival at the SALT Block on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26.

The Foothills Folk Art Festival will mark its 10-year downtown Newton milestone—20 years in Catawba County—by featuring student art from local schools and community displays.
The festival runs Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Newton.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Lacrosse team beat Coker 23-2 on Wednesday, Apr.
22 at their home field. As the #2 seed in the South Atlantic Conference tournament, the Bears will host their semi-final next Wednesday — the game will be played at Helen and Moretz Stadium.
CVCC baseball beat Cleveland Community College 15 to 5 in six innings on Wednesday, Apr.
22 with key hits from Tanner Brewer as the team improved its record to 31 to 17. The Red Hawks will host Louisburg College for a doubleheader Saturday and a final game Sunday.
