- ➤ On Monday, June 2nd, 2025, Maiden Police responded when a 54-year-old suspect fired shots into an 18-wheeler’s fuel tank near Country Market Convenience Store, ordering the driver out before fleeing in a pickup truck and later being arrested after a high-speed chase; he now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges—no one was injured. - ➤ The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for tips about suspect(s) in a mass shooting on June 1 at a home on Walnut Acres Drive in Catawba County that left one man, Shawn Patrick Hood, 58, dead and 11 others injured—seven of whom are in a hospital, while officials from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, FBI and SBI continue their investigation.
