- ➤ Lenoir-Rhyne hired Emry Tsitouris as the new head coach for the Bears women’s basketball team on June 14, following her successful tenure at Mars Hill University — where she turned a one-win team into a contender. - ➤ On Friday night, the Hickory Crawdads lost 3-2 to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in their third straight one-run game as the team scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning but could not overcome early runs by the Pelicans — the loss dropped their record to 30-30 and they will face the Pelicans again this weekend.
