- ➤ 54-year-old Charles Vincent Packer, Jr. of Taylorsville was arrested on July 2 by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers on four counts of felony breaking and entering, two counts of larceny, one count each of motor vehicle larceny and injury to personal property – and on July 3 he was charged with being a registered sex offender on school premises, is held at the detention center on a $110,000 secured bond, with his first court appearance set for July 7 and more arrests expected. - ➤ Hickory police will target traffic violations — red-light running, distracted driving, and speeding — along 5th Street Northeast this July to improve road safety. Hickory Daily Record
- ➤ Tracey Diane Teague, 32, from Tom Smith Avenue in Connelly Springs was arrested on July 1 for felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance—she also faces charges for failing to appear on a cocaine count, possessing drug paraphernalia, and two probation violations while she is held with a $160,000 secured bond and court dates set for July 3, 16, and 28 in Morganton.
