- ➤ A 64-year-old woman from Summit Street was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after she stabbed a Hickory woman on August 13 in Morganton during an argument after drinking, and the victim was treated at UNC Blue Ridge Emergency Room before being released—a court date is set for September 11. - ➤ A Burke County family filed a $25M wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Hickory and three police officers on the two-year anniversary of Timothy Setzer's death — alleging he was unarmed with his back turned when the officers fired 17 shots, which contradicts police accounts. - ➤ 39-year-old Derek Shea Enloe from Skyview Drive was arrested Wednesday for felony methamphetamine possession by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers and taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond—his District Court date was scheduled for Wednesday. WHKY
- ➤ 39-year-old Lindsay Renea Settlemyre of Bucks Garage Road in Maiden was arrested this morning by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers and is charged with meth possession in Catawba County and larceny in Lincoln County—she was jailed on a total bond of $25,800. WHKY
- ➤ 42-year-old Warren Lamont Peeler from 17th Avenue Court NW was arrested on August 14 for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault on a female, aggressive driving, and reckless driving — he is held at the Catawba County Detention Facility without bond and his district court hearing is scheduled for today.
