- ➤ Hickory residents asked city officials for help after speeding drivers threatened safety on Falling Creek Road. City officials will add paint to the road — a measure intended to slow down drivers and protect local residents. Hickory Daily Record
- ➤ Governor Josh Stein announced that the Rural Infrastructure Authority approved four grant requests worth $1,872,019—with two grants going to Hickory Metro counties to support 170 jobs and attract over $74.5 million in private investment. One grant, valued at $175,000, will help Alexander County reuse a former hospital for urgent care while Burke County received $697,019 to add more natural gas pipeline at their business park. WHKY
