Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute launches RISE this month in Caldwell and Watauga Counties to offer work-based learning opportunities (Healthcare, Manufacturing, Hospitality, and Trades), paid stipends, and mentorship while receiving $1 million in funding to help students earn credentials and prepare for jobs.

Energy Saver NC offers rebates for home energy upgrades to lower electric bills and is now available in all counties; Gov. Josh Stein said eligible families in Hickory can save an estimated $1,000 a year while free energy assessments from contractors add safety — bolstering local jobs and economic growth.

Frye Regional Medical Center will host an open house on Monday, Mar.
